When browsing through the tasks in this Flyspray instance,
I wanted to try out the “View Dependency Graph” feature.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be enabled here:

Warning: system() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/.jackaroo/knigits/flyspray.rocks.cc/bts/scripts/depends.php on line 213

We are aware that the dependency graph currently requires system(), and that this host does not have it enabled. Would you rather that I removed the link?

Comment by Christian Boos (cboos) - Tuesday, 22 November 2005, 13:13 GMT+2

Ah, sorry.

No, removing the link is probably not a good idea
because it would also reduce the visibility of the feature
(i.e. without the link I wouldn’t even know that the dependency graph feature existed).

Maybe a disabled link, with a “title” saying “Feature disabled for security reason”.

Not a big deal though, as this choice is now documented here
(a previous search for “graph” didn’t show anything about that feature not
being available here, that’s why I created this ticket).

Is there as screenshot/demo for that feature, somewhere? I’m not really familiar with PHP yet...

Mac Newbold is the developer responsible for the Dependency Graphs feature. I’ve added him as a notification recipient on this task, so hopefully he’ll be able to help. Also see  FS#612 .

Mac: If possible, please point Christian to a Flyspray server with a working ‘dot’, then close this task. Perhaps you could also spare a few minutes to get it working with webdot (ie, complete  FS#612 )? Of course, then I have to find a public webdot server...

Nevermind, by digging further, I’ve found one:

(looks like I can’t close this issue myself, though)

I’m glad you found the example. If you’ve got other questions about this feature, I’d be happy to answer them on the mailing list or in IRC.

Yes, I’ll be working on  FS#612  soon, and if there aren’t some public webdot servers out there already, I’ll make one that all flyspray installs can use by default. If people express an interest in it, I can backport the updates to 0.9.8, since it may be a while before 0.9.9 is stable and released.
