FS#1950 - Solve confusing Flyspray group settings vs Project group settings

This is taken from FS#1753:

The second reason being there is no way that I know of to automatically set a project usergroup to new members. I only have 1 project, but it seems the Global groups aren’t working (can still see tasks if “View Tasks” is unchecked) and I don’t know how to fix that.

And what I have to say - it is hard to tell if you are on the Flyspray admin settings area or on the admin settings of a project.

Cheapest way is adding some CSS to distinguish this for the user.

But there is in fact more to do to make it user friendly.

  • TODO: list configurations for project(task types, categories, ..) in Manage Project should also show the system wide list values as hint to avoid duplication.
  • TODO: project user groups overview should show system wide user group infos as info for project managers to avoid unnecessary complicated configuration settings.
  • TODO: visualize related permissions that can overrule eachother like ‘view_task’ overrules ‘view_own_tasks’ to avoid misconfigurations

I will do some work for the 1.0 relase, but not the complete overhaul.
Only the things that annoy me most. :-)

Project Manager

Implemented: User can now see global permissions and projects permissions on one page.

You're a machine, did not even have time to see this task and you did it already... The reason being I work weekends, my weekends are wednesdays and thursdays. Imo, for 1.1 the whole permissions have to be reviewed. I started already with the confusion about edit_own_tasks, but still more to do

Project Manager

Next step is groups permissions page. i have already sketched layout and sql on paper something. Hope mid next week done.

Yeah, now that we can see how many permissions there are really exists: flyspray permission system is powerful, but we have to keep an eye on that. It must be easy to manage and should not overwhelm people.

Project Manager

I'll fix the permission mess

Project Manager

Let's discuss your ideas with my ideas.

What is your idea for the group /group permission screen?

Project Manager

Sorry, missed that one...

I did not think about it actually, was saying that i'd fix the view_task permission

Project Manager

Here a first try for a more informative admingroups setting page:

Any comments? Ok to do a pull request?

I choosed to use a simple single '-' instead a forbidden icon if a permission is not given, because we have a permission system, not a denying system.

The icons are not perfect, but it was what is available with the font-awesome fontset and we do not have a nice set of image icons or image icon sprite.

Project Manager

admin and project group setting pages now shows if a global group is inactive (user of this global group cannot login - an example is the ‘pending group’)
