FS#2105 - countermeasures for 'add task anonymous' spam

Today I got first SPAM on bugtracker.

Question: Is it possible to enable CAPTCHA for anonymus task add?

Question 2: Is it possible to delete SPAM tasks.

I modified the summary a bit.

Q1: Is it possible to enable CAPTCHA for anonymus task add?
A1: At the moment only if you add a captcha method yourself to template and check if it is ok before a new anon task is created. (includes/modify.inc.php at the moment)

Q2: Is it possible to delete SPAM tasks.
A1: "Deleting of tasks" was denied early, see  FS#246 .

A workaround you can use is: Create another very restricted/hidden project, name it "spam" or something like that, move the spam tasks to this garbage project, delete the whole spam project.

Alternative is to delete within MySQL, but you need to know the table dependencies too to avoid inconsistent data.

A maybe possible future solution could be:

  • tasks by anon users are stored in a bit 'simpler' tasktable without so many relations with other tables and only if an administrative user confirms this anon task it is written to the real task table and given a unique task id.

Or if it gets too pesky at the moment, disable anon task reports in your project setting.
