Flyspray

Any form should have its submit button directly below and to the right of the form.

This is most egregious on the New Task page where you have to scroll back up to the top right to submit.

When I scroll down the page to see more of the task list and then click on one of the column headings to sot by this heading, the answer page doesn't scroll down to the table.

I think there are 2 technical solutions for that:

1. set an name/id a-anchor on top of the table and on each column heading link add for example '#tasklist'.

2. add a js-sorter with complete extra search and sort ajax-backend with e.g. libs from http://datatables.net/ This requires aleso writing a server side handler for taking the ajax requests (respecting user permissions!) and is only usable if js in enabled in browser. So this second solution can only be a luxury comfort function.

Due to the needed implementation of an anti csrf system into Flyspray 1.0,
this are a side effect issues we need to address:

Due the required replacement of action links to form buttons:

• The user cannot just see anymore the target url of the action by hovering over the link. We can compensate that in the simpliest case by using the title-tag as additional info to the user. Trust not full reestabilished that way, but better than nothing and user has fear to click a form button.

Javascriptless CSS3-toggles:

• Some clickable labels don’t show pointer icon when :hover. CSS issue, easy fix.

If on the reports page some get params aren't set, there are notice warnings on the report result page

like

without start date,end date,result size

But it can be useful to have a bit shorter urls for sharing between authorized users instead the full params url.

Result page should use user default and project default settings fallbacks for the unset get params.

Keyboard navigation is not documented

Removing table on row click made it impossible to open a task’ details if you do not display the task id and summary on the task list, because now those two cells are the only clickable items to open a task, instead of the entire line being the hyperlink

While editing an existing task, there’s a “+” button you can click to add a comment as part of the edit. Unfortunately this is just a plaintext box instead of the HTML editor used everywhere else, so it’s impossible to get proper line/paragraph breaks if a comment is entered with this UI.

This problem makes it necessary to edit a task and add a comment as two separate steps, whereas in 0.9.9.6 it was possible to do them together in one step.

Note that this is the case with syntax_plugin=”none”. I don’t know if it’s also a problem when using other values for that setting.

Logged in as admin, modify a users group membership. After clicking update, you are returned to your logged-in profile (admin in this case). It should re-display the user’s profile you are editing.

The ‘back’ button will return to updated page.

When viewing a project via the tasklist, there are a series of checkboxes available. If a user in a group with “modify own tasks” checks a box on a ticket - no matter who actually owns it - they are given a list of options to change it with.

This should not happen. The checkboxes should only be available from the tasklist if the user can actually edit the tickets they’d be next to.

The user preferences and the add new user screens both allow you to set the timezone offset of the user, however, we are only provided with whole hour offsets from GMT. This makes it impossible to select our timezone here in India, which is GMT+5:30 - IST(Indian Standard Time - Asia/Kolkata as per TZ Zoneinfo). In addition, there are also timezones in the GMT+x:45, which wouild also require to be handled. Note, this is totally independent of DST Changes, since some of the countries use DST(Like in Australia) and others do not(Like India).

I am seeing some noticed on the front page of our tracker install that were not present prior to updating to 1.0rc3.

It’s displaying the full path to the files on the page.

There are effectively 2 issues here. One is that some kind of error is kicking up. Second is that it’s being shown to anyone who visits the site.

In some parts of the world (primarily the US), the date is viewed as Month/Day/Year. However, all options in the current rc4 build are listed as Day/Month/Year aside from one, which goes ShortWrittenMonth/Day#/Year#.

This is poor from a customer perspective, and can be highly confusing. I can change the date globally to a correct format in the database, but this doesn’t help much as every user can select their own date which has all incorrect formats.

After updating from “1.0-rc6” to “1.0-rc7 dev” there is missing controls menu on writer. Look attachment.
How to solve this?

The issue with many servers now and the reason that recaptcha does not work is because it requires servers to enable allow_url_fopen which is a huge security risk. That is why you get the warning message when you try to run recaptcha that file_get_contents failed to connect.

So the solution is to use Curl to do that job.

Here is the fixed file, excuse my mess i had not cleaned up my code yet... but recaptcha now works.

this file goes in the includes dir... you can clean up the file if you like again sorry about that.

Steps done to create the problem:
Visit https://bugs.flyspray.org/index.php?do=register in a private browser window (so you are logged out)

Put in an already taken username (e.g. Stefan or Stefan2)

Expected behavior:
Username gets red and a note appears that username already is taken

Experienced behavior:
Username gets green and registration of a new user proceeds with sending a notification mail with confirmation code.
After putting in the confirmation code in provided page, user gets presented a “username is already taken, choose another” (where?) message, and has to re-start registration process from beginning and hopefully this time choose a not taken name.

RC9 running on CentOS LAMP stack

Steps done to create the problem:
Set up google as an oauth provider.
Have a user click “Sign in with Google” in the login box.
User connects their account with Flyspray.
Google redirects the user back to Flyspray
The return screen (on flyspray) asks for a username.

Expected behavior:
No warning about duplicate username should be shown on initial page load since no username was entered yet

Experienced behavior:
A warning about the username being already taken is shown.

It appears there is no logic for showing or hiding that warning in register.oauth.tpl

(It would be great if flyspray was able to just use the email as a username to make the UX even better/simpler.)

Hello,

When registering and when later editing users settings it’s possible to specify “Time zone” but the way it’s implemented is confusing. What I see is a drop-down list with GMT[+-]:digit: and this is an odd way to set the timezone for multiple reasons:

1. “GMT” is a word without universally accepted and defined meaning these days, see https://www.ucolick.org/~sla/leapsecs/timescales.html#GMT ;

2. Often time zone specification needs to include the rules when (if ever) to apply DST and what abbreviation is to be used in different cases. See TZ description on https://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/basedefs/V1_chap08.html#tag_08_03 .

Taking these two points into account I can’t see how to meaningfully use this feature.

Trying to add a new user having the same email address as an another user in the do=admin&area=newuser section results in

“That username is already taken. You will need to choose another one.”

instead of

“Email address has already been taken”

(I’ve stumbled on this issue because I have an older disabled user with the same email address)

Geshi 1.0.8.17 from https://github.com/easybook/geshi is quite slow at the current integration of Flyspray v1.0-rc3 on the first run. (But any further read uses the cache.)

But it produces garbled output for xml code highlighting:

The table tag is stripped away instead of converting the tag for output inside code/pre tags (by converting the < and > chars). Maybe just a configuration issue?

• There is a very old project site of flyspray on sf.net . The info there should be updated or removed.

• Update info and keep an eye on http://alternativeto.net/software/flyspray/ from time to time.

There’s a checkbox on this menu to toggle whether admins get notices for new user registrations or not. Ours is off, but I’m still getting those notices.

My project has 37 pending requests. Each has a set of Accept / Deny buttons next to it.

If I click on Deny, a textbox pops up for me to enter “Reason for denial” but the entire page immediately regreshes/reloads back to the task list before I have a chance to enter the reason and submit it.

I can always “Accept” the request implicitly by going to the appropriate task and closing/re-opening it, but there’s no way to “deny” something without going through this UI path.
