Flyspray

I tried to register a user test3, and in my flyspray Installation the adminstratior disabled the notifications.
So I could only select “None” as text next to “Notifications”. After I pressed the button “Send Code!”, I received the email with the confirmation code. I clicked on the link in the email, and on the appearing website I entered the confirmation code and password and pressed the button “Register this account”.

Then I got the next e-mail message.
This message begins with:

“You have registered at Flyspray. Your details are as follows:”

This e-mail ends with the sentences:

“You are receiving this message because you have requested it from the Flyspray bugtracking system. If you did not expect this message or don’t want to receive mails in future, you can change your notification settings at the URL shown above.”

But this is not true. I have not requested this email. I as user test3 cannot change the notification settings because the notifications are disabled by the administrator.

I could not find if this was already posted before. We have this basic profile where customers only can create new tasks and receive some notifications when the status or details change. The idea is that they do not see the comments, we want to use them for internal communication.
The think is that we just realized that they can not see the comments when they login but they receive them as notifications by email!

We want this notification for the admin users involved in the task but not for the customers. Is there a way to correct this behavior?

When a anonymous user tries to display a ticket of a non public project (for example by entering a random ticket id), Flyspray exposes the title of the non public project in the header bar.

Steps done to create the problem:
Visit https://bugs.flyspray.org/index.php?do=register in a private browser window (so you are logged out)

Put in an already taken username (e.g. Stefan or Stefan2)

Expected behavior:
Username gets red and a note appears that username already is taken

Experienced behavior:
Username gets green and registration of a new user proceeds with sending a notification mail with confirmation code.
After putting in the confirmation code in provided page, user gets presented a “username is already taken, choose another” (where?) message, and has to re-start registration process from beginning and hopefully this time choose a not taken name.

On flyspray/index.php?do=admin&area=newuser I sucessfuly register user with email ;

I don’t recieve popup with message ‘You did’nt enter valid e-mail address’

After that on new page i receive error:

Completely unexpected exception: Address in mailbox given [;] does not comply with RFC 2822, 3.6.2.
This should never happend, please inform Flyspray Developers

When a Flyspray installation allows user self registration and has public but also more private projects, this feature could make the required configuration more clear:

In this case, keep the number of global user groups as low as possible and the global user group for basic or just registered users has only the ‘can login’ permission and nothing more.
Because that only would be useless for new registered users, adding them also to a basic user group of a public project could be useful.

So my suggestion is:

A new optional global setting: Something like ‘default project user group’ (store 2 values: a project_id and a group_id). Validity of that setting must be checked during any user registration, so that project must exists now and at later time as also that project user group within that project. (’Checks’ of admin prefs)

So it would be like this for a new registered userA:

1. userA is in a basic default global user group: only login permission to handle his account registration (login, logout, user preferences, password forgotten)
2. userA is in project X default user group: some basic permissions you want allow for every (new) registered user in project X
3. project Y: all ‘allow anyone ...’-settings are unchecked, userA not in any user group of project Y

The setting is probably best put below the ‘Default global group for new users’ setting in the global admin prefs tab #userregistration as

Either: A dropdown list with all public projects with an existing user group and dependend on the selection the available basic project groups are loaded by ajax as a select list too.

Or: Only one dropdown list that contains a list of public projects with possible project user groups. Would not require extra ajax calls and is maybe enough because we could exclude project groups that have project manager permission or such configuration nobody would allow new registered users.

This idea could be enhanced further (put the new user to multiple public projects when he registers or let user choose from public allowed projects during registration process), but lets start simple.

In global permissions there is 'View tasks'. This makes it so a user can view all tasks. Need a way instead that they can view only their own tasks, for example a permission called 'View own tasks'.

If 'View own tasks' is checked for a user, in the project list we should only show projects which contain tickets that that user is a part of. Within a given project we should then only show tickets that the user is a part of if they have that permission set.

So for example if 'View tasks' is set, show user all tasks. 'View tasks' is not set, but 'View own tasks' is set then show them only their own tasks and projects.

• On the myprofile page have a section to show all my votes I put on tasks. done!
• Add the possibility to remove own votes from tasks. done!

• Implement a limitation of the amount of votes a user can put on tasks for a project. Can be enabled/disabled and amount configured. Done!

• When a task is finished/closed, remove the user votes from the task and make that vote again available to the user. Maybe safe the existing historic voting count in an extra field of the task as the votes would drop to 0 on closing the task. removed.

We keep the votes, because a task can be reopened everytime and then the old voters and votes should be visible again. In this case the amount of votes on active task could be a bit greater than allowed, but thats no real problem.
The calculation of done votes and available votes based only on open task and project voting limit.

For example on uservoice.com you have 10 voting points. So you as user has to decide where your priorities are to put your votes.

So all users have more or less the same power to vote for tasks.

I was wondering: is there a standard URL for “My tasks”? I have an internal website and I would like to create a menu with a few submenus (Add task and My tasks) that link to FlySpray. However if I place the URL for My Tasks (being logged in with my user account), and copy this link to the menu, all others that click the submenu My Tasks, are seeing the tasks that where opened by me or where I am assigned, not that user that is connected on Flyspray with his account on his PC.

So that’s why I am asking for a generic URL of My Tasks, so I can place it on this middle-site?

An account should be able to have multiple email addresses associated with it. For example, my primary email might be jordan@thevelozgroup.com, but I should also be able to log in via jordanmendler@gmail.com or other addresses I add.

That way you can just protect the setup routes after installation, etc.

And have a much less cumbersome .htaccess file.

And take sensitive files outside of the server path and not risk letting them get out in the public

I am interested in making the following mod:

When posting a new task, category should be blank by default, in order for the user that opens a new task to select that specific category.
If he doesn’t select any task, when pressing Add this task button, FlySpray should display an error message saying that the Category hasn’t been specified.

Do you think this mod can be made with the current version?
If so, do you mind if you help me a bit with the things that need to be modified?

After updating from “1.0-rc6” to “1.0-rc7 dev” there is missing controls menu on writer. Look attachment.
How to solve this?

Is there any settings to enable this or I’m missing something...

For users with administrative permissions, a moderation UI for spam tasks could be useful.

For other normal users a “mark as spam”-button (similiar to voting for a task) could help moderators to identify spam tasks.

1. Modify the spam task: Move to a hidden “Trash” project, replace summary and description with a default spam summary text end empty description.
2. The decision which kind of punishment of the account who created the spam depends on several things:
   • Is it a previously normal used account who got captured by a bad guy and suddenly started spamming?
   • Is it a fresh bot created account who tried creating many spam task to promote bad websites or do search ranking manipulation?
   • Is it a sneaky smart account who waits for the opportunity to offload spam in a subtile manner?

I think this is not so easy to automate without producing false positives, especially for a project without commercial interest and funding and no huge meta informations like Google or similiar data collecting corporation who have the ability to identify spam waves across the internet.

Tags can only be added on the “new task” page, not managed on the “edit task”-page. done

• The information when a tag is added or removed and by whom logged through flyspray_history table is still TODO.
• The information when a tag is added by whom is visible when hovering over it in the task details view
• Tags are now also searched by the submitted search string when doing a task search.
• In addition to the project level ‘free tagging’ which allows users create new tag names there exists also a use_tags permission per project. This is currently only used on some of the appropriate locations.

Just moved issue #110 from https://github.com/Flyspray/flyspray/issues/110 to here for centralized task tracking.

Maybe just needs testing with current github master.

I think it is time to think about an theme optimizied for mobile Devices.

We will not maintain several themes. We will review the current CleanFS theme to make it responsible instead.

when I wanted to use Flyspray to manage request from non-technical customer, I found one missing feature:

I have "report a problem" link on devel version of web site. But to submit new task, it is necessary to login into Flyspray.

It would be nice if there was an URL with login form if user is not logged in and "add new task" form if he is logged in.

Example scenario:
- Customer visits devel site after some time and finds some problem. He wants to report it.
- Customer clicks "report a problem" on the devel site and Flyspray is opened.
- Customer now see some wierd error message and has no idea what is wrong. If anonymous reports are allowed, he sees the form, but cannot upload screenshots and he must enter his e-mail address.

How it should be:
- Customer visits devel site after some time and finds some problem. He wants to report it.
- Customer clicks "report a problem" on the devel site and Flyspray is opened.
- Customer sees login form and (if anonymous reports are allowed) there is also "add new task" form below the login form.
- Customer clicks "login" (password is saved in browser).
- Customer now can fill report with all the comfort.

In Admins Toolbox (Project preferences) i choose language de. The file exists in folder lang. But only english is shown. the same for french and so on. No really changes.

The shortcuts help infobox should adapt to the current page type.

So when in editing a task for instance, the n (next task) and p (previous task) shortcuts are not available for a good reason. Listing them there with same priority as other keys then is not helpful.

The simpliest solution is probably putting some if-statements depending on the $do variable into CleanFS/templates/shortcuts.tpl ..
