Flyspray

The user preferences and the add new user screens both allow you to set the timezone offset of the user, however, we are only provided with whole hour offsets from GMT. This makes it impossible to select our timezone here in India, which is GMT+5:30 - IST(Indian Standard Time - Asia/Kolkata as per TZ Zoneinfo). In addition, there are also timezones in the GMT+x:45, which wouild also require to be handled. Note, this is totally independent of DST Changes, since some of the countries use DST(Like in Australia) and others do not(Like India).

I will be trying to identify and fix the codebase to resolve this, and will hopefully have a patch to submit soon.

The register spam by probably bots in 2016 is annoying.

I ticked the setting, that an admin must accept a new registration. It helps to reduce spam task, but now admin must decide if the registrations are ok or just spam bots.

Beside the need of antispam-plugins, the management of users can be improved:

• column sorting of user list, similiar to the tasklist
• filtering user list, similiar to the tasklist
• pagination of user list (25,50,100,200,all?)
• more columns:
  • last login implemented
  • last activity (a resulting task/comment/project change in database)
  • tasks created implemented
  • comments created implemented
  • votes implemented

that may help to decide what status or settings a user should have in future.

• show time zone setting and language setting of users implemented in userlist now

• mass accept/deny of a list of user registrations waiting for admin approval.

Integrate the selectpure javascript to the new task and edit task form.

By default there is a text field where tag names are separated by ‘;’ character.

Selectpure could instead show the tags with their visual layout with a little ‘x’ inside on the right side for removing a tag and autocomplete when typing a tag name to show existing tags from the flyspray_list_tag-table as possible selections.

Instead implemented a CSS and raw javascript solution with a single taghelper.js without any dependancies.

A button beside the tag input text field toggles a list of available tags for the current task, depending on the project and settings.

for toplevel, roadmap and task list view.

For roadmap: replace the current ‘-’ between the task id and task summary with icons.

For toplevel: most wanted tasks and assigned to myself

On task list the column text can be replaced by icons, moving the text to title attribute.

Maybe use css :content-before or :content-after for that.

I suggest following font-icons from fontawesome are the easiest way to implement:

• Bug Report use fa-bug , red color
• Feature Request use fa-star , yellow
• TODO a bold T, blue ( or blue fa-check?, but check mark maybe too ambiguous)

Gain: you faster see what types of task are on roadmap milestones and task list exists.

No lost, you can try it already works but it is not the default.

I have changed the htaccess.dist into .htaccess and modified to force https.
However, despite having https activated on my site I cannot get Flyspray running, it’s waiting forever.When I abort I get a page without makeup. I have all other applications like cms and wiki running under https, so it is something I have not done in the flyspray configs obviously (as this site is running https too). But could you give me a hint?

I installed flyspray in a subdirectory, if that is something to know about...

I have installed flyspray on an internal server and have problems with the renaming of internal links.

For example:
I want to put this link in the comment section.
\\192.168.200.5\Folder\example.docx

it shows the link correct,
but when you hover over the link it shows:
file://192.168.200.5/Folder/example.docx

And on clicking on it, of course I can´t access the file, because it´s trying to open an external link.
I dont want it to be renamed from ‘\’ to ‘/’.

Can somebody help me please.

I tryed to find it in the sourcecodes, but I have almost no experience in PHP.

I use Flyspray as a closed system with all projects set to private. I use it as a main means of communication with my clients. In such a case it would be a good idea for visitors to see a home screen (preferably a blank/splash screen with login option only) and definitely not the All tasks title or project names ( FS#2302 ) or taskid search.

We should change the document logic a bit here. For public projects search engines like well structured pages more then others. And we get a consistent structure too in future for Flyspray.

This I have in mind

(Working on a network monitoring system that really needs a ticketing system, saw this and since I speak PHP, thought it would be a good place to start... I just installed and am sharing my notes, do with them what you will!)

When a user has project manager permissions, but not admin permissions, then on the ‘edit group’ pages like index.php?do=pm&area=editgroup&id=8
the links in the list of users of that group are

instead of linking to the users page

index.php?do=user&area=users&id=12345

and a redirect follows with Error #4: You don’t have administrative rights.

Short dates in Greek are represented in the majority of cases with slashes (24/10/2016). Very seldom some people may use the dash form (24-10-2016) and hardly ever the dot form (24.10.2016).

So it would be much appreciated if the slash form were a (working) option because as it is dates are a bit confusing to us, especially in a date-time combination (too many numbers in a not-so-obvious format - brain needs extra time to decode it).

After completing the Greek translation I have a series of issues I want to report concerning mainly (but not limited to) the Greek languange.

I was thinking of opening a separate task for each one of them (note that they are all ultra low severity/priority) and adding them as sub-tasks to this one (or maybe as dependencies - or both).

I also request a Translations > Greek sub-category. I really have a lot of issues.

When adding a tag in Greek letters (e.g. “Δοκιμή”) I get:

On a project or ticket basis should be able to hook in and possibly also share permissions

For a combination of archiving / "notify bot" reasons I have found it useful to have a single global notification address where all bug reports / updates / comments go.

In the past I've used this to automatically dump updates into a IRC / Jabber chat room as well as provide a way for a project manager (me) to keep an idea of the amount of activity. Please let me know if you have questions about this.

Should be able to reference a ticket # when committing code, and then have a way to input your repository path to flyspray, and let it search all your commits for ticket #'s. Then should parse it, and have a link to that commit within the ticket.

Add a button to test mail configuration before notifications is accpeted

The flyspray admin users should be able to test their jabber/xmpp configuration, check if sending jabber notification is working and if not, give useful error messages back, so the user is able to fix the configuration.

filter_input() is in extension “Filter”.

filter_input() is only used at 1 section in Flyspray (since 2014 up to v1.0rc1) in includes/fix.inc.php

How do we solve it? Several possibilities:

• Do we really need this calls here? What “bad input” is filtered here?
• Test if the extension is enabled at install/update tests/screens.

its problem because my web-server inside have port 7777 and outside 80 (nginx and PHP-FPM)

• Use github releases for the release? peterdd: Yes, currently only source releases without 3rd party vendors.

The Flyspray 1.0alpha1 .zip file release unzips directly to the current directory.

.zip files from github unzip to it’s own directory (flyspray-master.zip unzips to flyspray-master/ ). This is a bit safer, because you cannot accidently mess your directory structure with it.

• The release should contain the binary fontawesome files instead of linking to the external CDN. Removes one dependency/singlepointoffailure. How this can be configured for automation? included in Flyspray source now.

• document how a release is exactly created. (consistency, reliability, automation, knowledge sharing for maintainers see below )

• Get in contact with os distributions, that could add Flyspray releases to their repositories (*BSD, Linux distributions, ..) This repositories could add the dependencies like ADODB within the packages (.rpm, .deb,..)

• Get in contact with web hosting providers who provide integreated 1-click installs of software for their web hossting customers.

• Get in contact with container builders (docker, ..)
