Flyspray

When filing a task, it’s possible to submit the task without any information at all being added to the main body of the ticket. This leads to reports that are of no value because the user can simply add some vague title, hit submit, and then wonder why nothing happens other than someone closing it later as invalid.

The main body of the ticket should be considered a required field and should throw an error if nothing is in the box.

For a combination of archiving / "notify bot" reasons I have found it useful to have a single global notification address where all bug reports / updates / comments go.

In the past I've used this to automatically dump updates into a IRC / Jabber chat room as well as provide a way for a project manager (me) to keep an idea of the amount of activity. Please let me know if you have questions about this.

After completing the Greek translation I have a series of issues I want to report concerning mainly (but not limited to) the Greek languange.

I was thinking of opening a separate task for each one of them (note that they are all ultra low severity/priority) and adding them as sub-tasks to this one (or maybe as dependencies - or both).

I also request a Translations > Greek sub-category. I really have a lot of issues.

(Working on a network monitoring system that really needs a ticketing system, saw this and since I speak PHP, thought it would be a good place to start... I just installed and am sharing my notes, do with them what you will!)

I have installed flyspray on an internal server and have problems with the renaming of internal links.

For example:
I want to put this link in the comment section.
\\192.168.200.5\Folder\example.docx

it shows the link correct,
but when you hover over the link it shows:
file://192.168.200.5/Folder/example.docx

And on clicking on it, of course I can´t access the file, because it´s trying to open an external link.
I dont want it to be renamed from ‘\’ to ‘/’.

Can somebody help me please.

I tryed to find it in the sourcecodes, but I have almost no experience in PHP.

I have changed the htaccess.dist into .htaccess and modified to force https.
However, despite having https activated on my site I cannot get Flyspray running, it’s waiting forever.When I abort I get a page without makeup. I have all other applications like cms and wiki running under https, so it is something I have not done in the flyspray configs obviously (as this site is running https too). But could you give me a hint?

I installed flyspray in a subdirectory, if that is something to know about...

I have downloaded this:
Precompiled with 3rd party libs for PHP5.6: flyspray-1.0-rc1_php56.tgz
and the file seems really dont exist.

The user preferences and the add new user screens both allow you to set the timezone offset of the user, however, we are only provided with whole hour offsets from GMT. This makes it impossible to select our timezone here in India, which is GMT+5:30 - IST(Indian Standard Time - Asia/Kolkata as per TZ Zoneinfo). In addition, there are also timezones in the GMT+x:45, which wouild also require to be handled. Note, this is totally independent of DST Changes, since some of the countries use DST(Like in Australia) and others do not(Like India).

I will be trying to identify and fix the codebase to resolve this, and will hopefully have a patch to submit soon.

In Admins Toolbox (Project preferences) i choose language de. The file exists in folder lang. But only english is shown. the same for french and so on. No really changes.

Please advise if there are known issues when integrating Flyspray with Active Directory using LDAP.

Currently, the Vote functionality provides users a way to say "this issue is important to me". In addition to that functionality, it would be great for users to have a "Verify" ability on open issues; it would provide users a way to say "yes, this happens to me as well".

A "Verified" label would fit nicely right under "Votes", to the right of the label would be "Yes | No", each option being a link. After clicking Yes or No, or if unable to specify (lack of permissions), the text would display "Yes - # | No - # (% verification)" where '%' is the result of ((Yes/(Yes+No))*100).

This feature should not show up on all issues, though. It does not make sense to "verify" a feature request or todo item, for example. When defining task types, the administrator would specify if a type was "Verifiable" by checking a box in a column next to "Show".

If implemented, two great, mini extra features would be:

1. The ability for the administrator to set the number of "Yes" verifications an issue would need before it was elevated to the next priority, severity, or both (specified by the administrator).
2. The ability for the administrator to set the number of "No" verifications an issue would need before it was lowered to the previous priority, severity, or both (specified by the administrator).

Both settings should have an option to be incremental (priority / status increased every x verifications) or not (increases once, no matter how many verifications are received); an "Incremental" checkbox would do nicely. Also, a little "Enabled" checkbox next to both settings would be clearer than having zero act as the disable mechanism.

As with voting, a permission should exist to enable or disable this option for a user group. For larger projects, moderators tasked with verifying bugs could be given the permission whereas smaller projects may leave verifications up to the community.

Lastly, a way to send a notification once the number of "Yes" verifications reached a certain value would also be a great addition.

After updating from “1.0-rc6” to “1.0-rc7 dev” there is missing controls menu on writer. Look attachment.

At first I thought month names were controled by jscalendar. But after restoring functionality of jscalendar ( FS#2226 ) I realized that month names are probably a native feature of Flyspray.

So month names need translation. Moreover, in Greek there should be grammatical cases used. For example October in Greek is Οκτώβριος (nominative case). But when you say “October 2” in Greek is “2 Οκτωβρίου” (genitive case). So month translation would require at least two strings for each month.

That way you can just protect the setup routes after installation, etc.

And have a much less cumbersome .htaccess file.

And take sensitive files outside of the server path and not risk letting them get out in the public

When viewing a project via the tasklist, there are a series of checkboxes available. If a user in a group with “modify own tasks” checks a box on a ticket - no matter who actually owns it - they are given a list of options to change it with.

This should not happen. The checkboxes should only be available from the tasklist if the user can actually edit the tickets they’d be next to.

I was wondering: is there a standard URL for “My tasks”? I have an internal website and I would like to create a menu with a few submenus (Add task and My tasks) that link to FlySpray. However if I place the URL for My Tasks (being logged in with my user account), and copy this link to the menu, all others that click the submenu My Tasks, are seeing the tasks that where opened by me or where I am assigned, not that user that is connected on Flyspray with his account on his PC.

So that’s why I am asking for a generic URL of My Tasks, so I can place it on this middle-site?

I tried to register a user test3, and in my flyspray Installation the adminstratior disabled the notifications.
So I could only select “None” as text next to “Notifications”. After I pressed the button “Send Code!”, I received the email with the confirmation code. I clicked on the link in the email, and on the appearing website I entered the confirmation code and password and pressed the button “Register this account”.

Then I got the next e-mail message.
This message begins with:

“You have registered at Flyspray. Your details are as follows:”

This e-mail ends with the sentences:

“You are receiving this message because you have requested it from the Flyspray bugtracking system. If you did not expect this message or don’t want to receive mails in future, you can change your notification settings at the URL shown above.”

But this is not true. I have not requested this email. I as user test3 cannot change the notification settings because the notifications are disabled by the administrator.

Is there any possible implementation in the future of a way to send new tasks and edited tasks in to discord or some messaging software like bots do, for example github bot will post new issues to a channel in discord so users can see and check up on things, especially for big projects which use these types of things and need a way to notify users of updates
