2436Backend/CoreBug ReportLowdokuwiki renderer creates nonunique html-id for h1,h2,h...New
0%
202.08.201702.08.2017 Task Description

The dokuwiki renderer automatic creates for each h(1-6) tag an html id attribute, but doesn’t ensure that this:

  • is not used by Flyspray templates
  • is unique across all tasks (tasklist summary/description mouseover!), id must be unique on a webpage.

Example: id=”footer” and id=”title” are used by the default CleanFS template for example.

id=”footer”

title

id=”title”

title

id=”title1”

title

id=”title2”

The original intention I think is to make dokuwiki content each h-section linkable, for instance by a “table of contents” at top of a wiki content page.
This is currently not used by the dokuwiki integrated in Flyspray, but could be in future.

Possible solution

Add the task_id to the generated id h(1-6) tags, for instance “d1234_footer” “d1234_title”

d - like description

(t1234 used for tags/labels id currently)

2593DocumentationTODOLowdocument special search string charactersNew

+ is a special character in the search string. The behavior was introduced in 2006, but to my knowledge was never documented anywhere.

Also the usage of % and _ for SQL LIKE pattern matching that can be used by Flyspray searches should be documented.

Note: The matches of such search strings with placeholders are not used by the “highlight search string matches in results”-feature.

2057Backend/CoreBug ReportLowDo not resubmit forms on browser reload button or F5New
0%
122.09.201523.09.2015 Task Description

On some forms, when the user presses the reload button of this browser, the POST submit can be resubmitted.

Browsers can warn about this (Chromium, Firefox, Konqueror tested and they show a warning dialog) before executing the second POST.
But people on Flyspray mailing list wrote they experienced double comments.

Simple solution is just HTTP GET redirects after a successful POST. (HTTP 303 or HTTP 302)
But maybe there is a better method than a second roundtrip always needed?

Success, Error, or Warn-messages to the user are stored in the $_SESSION variable for displaying on the second GET request.
But I think that this is a bit ... mmh... not perfect.

For example, I would like to have in the direct response at which position in a form an input error is, not just the message bar in the top center as it is currently that just dissappear after a few seconds.

Also take care the browser back button still works as expected for the user.

2577User InterfaceFeature RequestVery Lowdistinguish between anonymous reporter and deleted userNew
0%
18.10.201918.10.2019 Task Description

When a user is deleted from Flyspray, their opened tasks, closed task and task comments are then shown as Anonymous Submitter, the same way as anonymous reporters (not really anonymous, just that user does not have login account, but usually their email address is stored within that task data).

Currently just the entry from users table are deleted when a user is deleted. Their internal user_id integer is still within tasks and comments fields, and maybe some other tables too. So there is not a ON DELETE SET NULL rule or something like that applied. As it is just an autoincremented number by the system, this is not personal data imho and should be no problem for GDPR, but gives Flyspray the ability to distinguish between anon reporters and deleted users. Well, we could also look if there is an email address within task table entry for notification of anonymous reporter, but there are also tasks possible that have no user_id nor an email address.

It might by useful to present that information differently like deleted user or showing the info differently like icon + title-tooltip with explanation.

Also interesting what happens with mentions of a deleted username in a comment or task description. (see FS#2322)

The user isn’t in database, but deleting that now gone user should not modify tasks or comment where that username was mentioned I think.
But what if another user registers under that now gone username? In that case that new user would inherit that mentions. Probably we can ignore that edge case as there will be not much things will happen with an old mention in old tasks/comments.

2587Backend/CoreTODOMediumdisplay_errors=1 should not set in release candidateUnconfirmed
0%
18.12.201918.12.2019 Task Description

display_errors = 1 should not set in include/fix.inc.php for releases or releases candidate, because with this it is not possibele to disable the error reporting globaly.

The problem is, if I want to enable full error reporting to logfile via “error_log=…” in php.ini, then the error will also full reported to user. Full error reporting is a hig risk for security.

Did you installed an official release or did you used an inoffical docker?!
flyspray-1.0-rc9

Steps done to create the problem:
Create a file php.in in base directory with follow contens:
error_reporting = E_ALL | E_STRICT
log_errors = On
display_errors = Off
error_log = /var/log/php-flyspray-errors.log

Expected behavior:
Errors only to log file

Experienced behavior:
All errors goes also to user.
The option “display_errors = Off” has no effect.

2531TranslationsFeature RequestLowdetect usage of translation keywordsNew
0%
110.01.201919.03.2019 Task Description

Some translation keywords of Flyspray are used at more than one code location.

To help translators doing the correct translations, it would help to show in what context a translation keyword is used.
Especially when a keyword is used more than once.

As we have our own translation helper integrated into Flyspray, we could show a ‘translation keyword usage counter’ there and maybe show on request in which file
a translation keyword is used.

It would also help to identify ‘abandoned’ translation keywords that are not used anymore by Flyspray source.

Also it would help to identify when a translation is used at more than one location with maybe different context.

I think we can use a regular expression and scan the whole Flyspray source for that.
(and maybe database entries if there are places that have translation keywords stored - I don’t think so, but better check that too first than forget that case)

The regular expression should match that examples case insensitive for the translation keyword report:

L('report'
L("report"
eL('report'
eL("report"

but also ugly cases like
l(    'report'
or
El ( "report"

case insensitive.

But not for example

Hi there,

I was looking for some issue management tool for the company I work for and Flyspray turned out to be almost perfect solution. I installed it easily and it works GREAT!
As I said, this turned out to be almost perfect solution, and this is because it lacks some features that my company needs.

  • Due Date with Hour/Minute part - to choose till what time during that day should task be done (ie. 27-12-2012, 17:27)

Away with needs of my company, I believe that these features will make Flyspray very interesting and more suitable for many small/medium companies.

Best regards,

Milan Vlajnic

My version of PHP still shows deprecation warnings with flyspray.

Deprecated: mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead in /var/www/flyspray.itiab.co.nz/htdocs/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 353

Have all mysql.connect instances been removed? The connect will be removed from PHP soon and will cause problems.

Upon my implementation for an easier date selector, I think we should rework it as follow:

  • Drop extended date concept
  • Add a Time format
  • Extended dates field become a concatenation of date format and time format.
    • The above make it easier to select your preferences
  • Rename GMT to UTC
  • Add automatic daylight saving configs

In some parts of the world (primarily the US), the date is viewed as Month/Day/Year. However, all options in the current rc4 build are listed as Day/Month/Year aside from one, which goes ShortWrittenMonth/Day#/Year#.

This is poor from a customer perspective, and can be highly confusing. I can change the date globally to a correct format in the database, but this doesn’t help much as every user can select their own date which has all incorrect formats.

Experienced behavior:
Flyspray always shows this note, even though character set is correct.

As far as I can tell from the source, a query gets executed to the database (and if I do that manually the result is “utf8mb4, utf8mb4_unicode_ci” for my database), but the result doesn’t get checket, the note is always shown (line 123)

1491User InterfaceFeature RequestLowCustom task table columns for individual usersUnconfirmed
0%
2.0301.07.200801.10.2015 Task Description

Allow individual users to define custom views of the task tables much like the project manager can for the entire project; only on a user scale.

An option for the user to "use default" project settings should be possible and should be the default.
Only pro users will change it to their needs, not the average reporter.

Interesting would be the possibility to change it dynamic on the tasklist view, not only on the myprofile setting page.

Open Question: Simple or complex implementation?

  • Simple: A new varchar field for the user table like it is in the project table and provide the same field chooser like on project setting page.
  • Complex: User settings for global tasklist view and each project. Needs extra 'project_user' (or 'user_project' ;-) ) join table. Well, maybe over engineered.
1782Backend/CoreFeature RequestLowCustom fields on taskPlanned

2.033327.11.201207.01.2020 Task Description

A very useful feature would be to be able to manage a list of custom fields by project, and to be able to add and fill any of these fields to any task.
So we could be able to search on the presence and content of a field.
We could be able to sort the tasks by this field when they are displayed in a list.

A use example is when you create a bug by reference to another external list. It can be very useful to have a field that references a line in the external list.

If i set up a custom css in the main FS settings the style doesn’t get applied to all nested projects. I have to set the css to all projects explicitly to get the stylings work on all project pages.
Wouldn’t it be a good idea to first load the css set in the main dialog and after that load an additional css specified in the sub project? Then it would be possible to specify general stylings for all projects and project based stylings also.
